A member of Sri Lankan opposition and his bodyguard were killed and at least 11 people including the alleged killer were injured Tuesday in a shooting at a Hindu temple in Colombo, the government said.

Thiagarajah Maheswaran, Tamil MP’s main opposition United National Party (UNP), has been the target of this assassination perpetrated by an unidentified person, said the press spokesman of the Defense Keheliya Rambukwella.
