Guys, I'm having a school project about learning other culture beside than mine. I personally choose Chinese culture as I'm also an Indonesian Chinese. I need answers on these questions:

Language

1. What is the preferred language in your home?

2. Do you speak other languages other than that? If yes, please specify.

3. Are you born in the place where your preferred language was used?

4. If your preferred language isn't English, can you suggest any differences between English language and your preferred language? (E.g. US people sometimes say "you know" when ending a sentence in a conversation.

Family system and role relationships

1. What type of family are you? (Nuclear Family – parents with children, Extended Family – your grandparents, uncles, aunties, parents, cousins living at one house)

2. Can you describe your family in terms of your culture? (E.g. You must hugged your parents every time you come back from school)

3. What is the role of each member in the family? (E.g. Father/Mother becomes the leader, what children should do in their home...)

4. What happened if an individual doesn't fulfill its role in your culture? (The father was laid off and maybe the mother would find a job to replace the father or the children should find a job)

Greetings

1. How do you greet others when you first meet in your culture?

2. Is it easy to find introduce yourself to someone whom you don't know? (Introducing to a new classmate)

3. Is there any kind of rituals if a guest comes by to your house? (Serving a tea, giving some snacks)

1. From what age do you start your education?

2. How's the education process? (Very strict or too much freedom) Please explain and if necessary, provide examples as well.

3. What are the major differences between the US and your home country in terms of education? (Here you can choose your own classes or you don't actually need to wear any uniform during high school)

Employment and Income

1. From what age can you apply for jobs in your culture?

2. Does your country promote employment in such that students are advised to have some income for a living and to pay their own tuition fees?

3. From your own knowledge, what is the estimated income a 25, 30, 35 or 40 years old man/woman received? (4 answers)

4. Does the income that you stated reasonable enough to support the family in your culture?
