It is very encouraging, inspiring and appreciable that China has declared to that they will take all the best possible actions to fight against the climate change. China has made a determination of 40 to 45 percent reduction of emission by 2020 from 2005 level. European Union and Japan has declared amounts to provide to fight the climate challenge. What else we have got from the Copenhagen Conference?
There is a last minute agreement of five countries (U.S., India, Brazil, South Africa and China) have come to an agreement to combat global warming. But the deal has no restriction or commitment about the reduction of emission. The deal contains that the countries will be look to keep the global warming at 2’c or less. This is really unrealistic without a significant amount of reduction of emission. The deal doesn’t contain any infrastructure about how these five nations will support other developing nations in the long run other than a promise of $30 billion of support by 2012. With a lot of protester against this agreement this deal also has not been finalized yet. Many people have expressed their frustration and dissatisfaction about the agreement.
There is another draft has made by the United Nations. There are a lot of unanswered questions left. No guideline or technological infrastructure has made for the under developed of developing countries.
Is it the result the whole world has waited for from Copenhagen Conference? Or it is the start of a new era of fight against climate change? Everything depends on how every country work toward the same goal, depends on how much emission will be reduced by nations, depends on how quickly the world leaders can make another step to have a better or more positive agreement between them.
We may write, we may talk, we may request but only the world leader’s can save the world. We may appreciate China for their effort may expect for the best output from other Nations.
